Unlocking Energy Savings

Years ago, the founders had an idea. Having worked for decades creating innovations in the wireless industry at companies like Nokia, Telefonica, and Bell Labs they saw two converging trends. First, the advent of 5G meant towers were tasked to transmit more and more data than ever. Second, the rise of energy usage mapped 1:1 to the rise in data transmission resulting in astronomically growing cost increases for carriers.

Every idea starts with a problem. Ours was simple: The energy use of wireless towers is too big and expensive.

To solve the problem, the team recruited some of the leading minds in the world in data, networking and energy. They soon realized software alone wouldn’t cut it. It’s why software-only approaches are inherently limited: they optimize around a hardware architecture that was never designed for efficiency. To solve the problem, to really move the needle, what they needed to do was to radically redesign hardware. And what if it was as easy to install, monitor and maintain as a Nest is at home?

TalkingHeads Wireless was born.

We are on a mission to create an alternative. By redesigning hardware from the ground up, we’re able to help wireless carriers materially lower the energy costs of their network towers.
